Humic acid is a type of plant biostimulant, also called plant conditioners. It increases nutrient uptake and utilization as well as improves plant quality & produce. It also improves plants’ stress tolerance to weather, pests, and diseases.
Humic acids are commonly used as a soil supplement. It stabilizes nitrogen and release lock up phosphorus in soil and increases soil water holding capacity. It can help hold these fertilizers in the root zone for longer periods of time and allow the plant to take up more nutrients. In hard-pan or compacted soils, an addition of humic acid fertilizer can break up these soils and allow nutrients to penetrate deeper down to the root zone. It also stimulates root development, enhances phosphate utilization of plants and stimulates plant growth.
